With lean construction and a responsive fit, the PureCadence 2 rethinks how support technology is engineered. Features like the internal PDRB help prevent overpronation without added parts and the wide Nav Band holds your foot like an endless hug. Add fresh looks and some street cred, and this featherweight friend will run footloose and fancy-free with you.
Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

I started with Newton Motions shoes last year and just picked up the Pure Cadence2 last month. I had a 10k the first day I wore them and placed 7th in my AG!! Great shoes! However, they have only 60 miles on them and I'm noticing tearing! I have a marathon in June and I'm worried these will be trashed by then.

There is no question the tounge needed to be tweaked, but that was it...The literature can say all day and all night that NOTHING else was changed , but the fit doesn't lie...
The sole is different, the upper is different....the pronation control is MORE pronounced...which for some may be a GOOD thing, but for those of us who have strengthened our lower legs and adapted over the pat year it's an awful change.
Maybe the Flow will be better, but I'm concerned it will be too soft.
You know, this gets expensive, not to mention frustrating. When a shoe has as many positive reviews as this line did and then the ENTIRE shoe gets a different feel, it really makes me wonder WHO it's being designed for....
certainly not the current consumers...
AND...I don't know who does the marketing survey for the colors, but these are awful. There really should be a wider range....dark, light and bright....not every woman wants a dark/black shoe nor a bright pink one....
Getting rid of the black laces would go a long way...
Take it for what you will..
Back to try Mizuno, Asics, and Newtons...

Comments about PureCadence 2:
This is my first transitional shoe, as I've newly become a forefront striker and needed a shoe that would enable me to better strike on the front of my foot and give me enough cushioning for marathon training. These did it for me! They has a mild curve in the front of the shoe for easier running and adequate cushioning for running...and if you need more cushioning, simply change out the inserts. These shoes are narrow, but so are my feet, otherwise, you may want to steer clear of these shoes. My only wish is that they offered a bit more stability.

Comments about PureCadence 2:
I run about 16-25 mi/week depending on my race schedule. The first PureCadence are what transitioned me into minimalist running shoes. Loved the first PureCadence shoes and like many other readers, was disappointed by this 2nd version. Didn't love the wrap around tongue, but the biggest complaint I had was the hard reinforcement for the shoelace holes. These left the tops of my feet feeling bruised following each run. Waiting for you guys to release the next version because I really loved my first pair and don't love the shoes I had to settle for.

Comments about PureCadence 2:
I am a huge fan of the Brooks Pure Cadence1s. They are my go-to shoe for speed and track workouts... plus have made me very fast. Like many runners, I have a shoe for shorter distances and one for my long runs. After reading so many positive reviews about the new release, I was hoping that the Pure Cadence2s were going to be even better than the 1s.
After my second pair of Cadence1s wore out, I tried on a pair of Cadence2s. Initially, the shoes felt a bit tight, but I purchased them anyway to try on the treadmill, thinking that they would "loosen up" after the first run. My toes were numb after less than 5 minutes of running on the treadmill. I also felt like the shoe ran really narrow and tight in the middle, which made for an uncomfortable run. Halfway into my workout, I could barely feel my pinky toes and even after readjusting the tongue and making sure the laces weren't too tight, the same problems persisted. I did a couple more workouts just to make sure and it was not what I had expected.
Sad to say, the Cadence2s were not for me. I also agree with everyone in that the color choices could have been better. I returned the Cadence2s in exchange for the Cadence1s and just PR'ed in a race with them on!
I am a Brooks girl and hope to remain one for life. Thanks for all that you do.

Comments about PureCadence 2:
I have been a Brooks fan for the past 10 years. I wore the adrenaline forever until I switched to pure cadence this year. I fell in love with the original and wore them everywhere. I am a stay at home mom, runner, soccer player and tri-athlete. The originals did fit a little small so I went with half a size bigger by ordering a 9 the first time. This time I think I'm going to have to order my normal size 8.5 as the 9's felt much bigger. Not a huge fan of the color options either. My last blue/green pair actually went well with most of my clothes. The new design and color options are kind of ugly in my opinion. Please bring back better color options!

Comments about PureCadence 2:
I like the original PureCadence better. I have two pairs of the original and love them --- these are not the same fit as before. They seem to be more stiff. Please consider changing the next version back to be more like the original. I do love that they tounge doesnt move!

Comments about PureCadence 2:
I almost did not buy these after reading all of the reviews on the website and I was going to hold out for the 3.0 since I absolutely adore the originals. However, at the VCM expo I spoke with a Brooks representative and asked if there were plans to go back to the original design. he said "absolutely not," "that the shoes were a better design" and "that the only thing that was different was the 'upper.'" I was skeptical and took out my phone to show him how the rest of the line gets three and four stars but that these barely get two and a half. He said that this happense when an original shoe is well received. Again, I was skeptical and spent a lot of time (to no avail) looking for the orignials on the internet. When that failed, I sucked it up and got a pair of the 2.0s. And you know what, they are exactly the same except for the "upper." I don't know what shoes the people who are writing such bad reviews are wearing, but I could hardly tell the difference between these and the originals. These might be a speck bigger in length and the "burrito tongue" deffinitely holds the foot in a slightly different way, but while running they could have been the same shoe. Please do not let the negative reviews discourage you. If you liked the originals you should at least try the 2.0s.

Comments about PureCadence 2:
I loved the 1st Pure Cadence!!! It was God sent.. I searched for months for a shoe for my feet!! It was light but still gave me the stability I needed for my normal arched, wide, and mildly overpronating feet. The 1's were surprisingly wide even for a B(medium) width when I'm a D(wide) width. They were awesome and I loved the color. The only downfall is they wore quickly.
The 2's came out and I was excited. I drove to my local running store to try them on and I couldn't even get my foot into the shoe!! After a much needed push the shoe was on but so tight and constricted I was in pain after a minute of wearing them. The toe box is narrow, and the attached tongue on the shoe is so odd that I was confused. The plastic straps across the top of the shoe are even more restricting to my feet. Aesthetically the shoe needs some work. The logo on the top of the shoe looks stupid and there are poor color options. Brooks, bring back the original Pure Cadence and start making more widths available!! I've become a Brooks Girl and I don't want to change that!!! Thanks

Comments about PureCadence 2:
I came from using Dual Fusion but knees and back would hurt everytime I walked more than 20 minutes or tried to run in them. These shoes took the impact so my knees and back didn't have to. I love the look of this shoe as well. If you have back and knee probs, this shoe might be what you need....The very first day I went running in these, NO MORE PAIN :) I do normally wear a half size smaller...these seem to run just a little small...
