With lean construction and a responsive fit, the PureCadence 2 rethinks how support technology is engineered. Features like the internal PDRB help prevent overpronation without added parts and the wide Nav Band holds your foot like an endless hug. Add fresh looks and some street cred, and this featherweight friend will run footloose and fancy-free with you.

Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

I started with Newton Motions shoes last year and just picked up the Pure Cadence2 last month. I had a 10k the first day I wore them and placed 7th in my AG!! Great shoes! However, they have only 60 miles on them and I'm noticing tearing! I have a marathon in June and I'm worried these will be trashed by then.

There is no question the tounge needed to be tweaked, but that was it...The literature can say all day and all night that NOTHING else was changed , but the fit doesn't lie...

The sole is different, the upper is different....the pronation control is MORE pronounced...which for some may be a GOOD thing, but for those of us who have strengthened our lower legs and adapted over the pat year it's an awful change.

Maybe the Flow will be better, but I'm concerned it will be too soft.
You know, this gets expensive, not to mention frustrating. When a shoe has as many positive reviews as this line did and then the ENTIRE shoe gets a different feel, it really makes me wonder WHO it's being designed for....

certainly not the current consumers...

AND...I don't know who does the marketing survey for the colors, but these are awful. There really should be a wider range....dark, light and bright....not every woman wants a dark/black shoe nor a bright pink one....

Getting rid of the black laces would go a long way...
Take it for what you will..

Back to try Mizuno, Asics, and Newtons...

    Comments about PureCadence 2:

I've run in the orignial Pure Cadence for over a year and LOVED them. I had finally found my perfect shoe!
I am so disappointed in the update. It's nothing like the original. I had blisters and pain in my knees and shins. The new version feels wider and because of the updated lacing system, I can't get them tight enough.
I scoured the internet for the previous version and luckily found one pair. Getting back in the original version again only reconfirmed how much better they were.
PLEASE Brooks, give us updated colors but why mess with a good thing? You had it right the first time.

    Comments about PureCadence 2:

The shoes are very comfortable and so far are doing the trick. However i loved the PureCadence 1, why not just keep making them? Or at least keep the great green color. And I hate that they moved the logo from the side to the top, i almost didn't buy the shoes. The grey logo on top stands out to much with work clothes

Mix the old with the new

    Comments about PureCadence 2:

Cons: I would REALLY like to see the upper from the first Pure Cadence used on next year's model. It was a stretchy, form-fitting mesh that gave way to lots of widths. The Pure Cadence 2 has a stiff, plastic-ey upper that is preventing me from loving this shoe once again.

    Pros:
It's a very versatile shoe--I love trail running in it because it provides me with slight pronation control when the ground is uneven. I also love wearing it everyday as my go to shoe--in the store or if I'm doing more walking around for the day. The heel drop for the series also allows me to still experience (and benefit)from the minimalist trend. The curved instep lacing is one of my favorite things about this shoe.

My bottom line: PLEASE FIX THE UPPER!

    Comments about PureCadence 2:

at first these shoes fit way too tight. i am a nurse that works 12 hour shifts, and somewhere along the line, i developed plantar fasciitis! after a couple days of wearing these shoes, they stretched a bit and a so comfortable now. i wear them for my 12 hour shifts and no longer feel my heel pain at work. these shoes are very lightweight, and look way more appealing than some other 'walking' type shoes that are good for pronation issues.

      BRING BACK THE ORIGINALS

          Comments about PureCadence 2:

I do not like the Pure Cadence 2 compared to the originals. They said all they changed was the tongue of the shoe but that cannot be true. I have ran many miles for Cross Country and track season in my originals and never had a problem. I ordered the cadence 2 shoes about 3 months ago and have ran over 100 miles in them and they still cause me pain and discomfort in the top of my foot from the changes. I have had to resort back to running in my originals until I find something else. You should never alter something that does not need to be altered. Please bring back the originals.

            Comments about PureCadence 2:

I've worn Brooks Adrenaline for several years. I bought the Pure Grit (1st series) and loved them for trails, so I went with Pure Cadence2 for road running. My first run was fine and enjoyable, but after a couple miles on my next run, it started to hurt the top of my right foot by my big toe. I wore them again on an 8-miler, but by the 2nd mile, my foot/toe hurt, right where the big toe ends (where it bends). It worsened as I went along, and my foot was bruised by the time I took them off. I tried them once more for good measure but couldn't even walk in them because of the pain at the top of my foot, right at the end of the big toe.

              Comments about PureCadence 2:

I am training for a half marathon in July and I will be using these to do my short runs. I used them straight out of the box to do a 4 mile run and my quads were a bit sore afterwards! They tell you to break them in slower than that anyway so that's my fault and I actually felt like I did something...lol! I use Glycerins for my long runs and it's crazy...with the cadences you actually feel like you're using your feet to run...weird i know :)
I switched back to the Glycerins for the next run, and I was like, "wow, I'm not sure I actually felt my feet hit the ground!"(in the glycerins, vs the pure cadence where you can definitely feel the ground more) . So for whatever that's worth, I think they'll be good for improving my lower leg muscles just because it seems like you're using your feet and calves to push off more. I have since run a 4.5 and a 3.5 mile run in them with no problems.
Also, they are extremely comfy for someone with a high arch, and I loooooooooove the purple color!!!

Do not like the shape of the shoe. Like the nike free shape shoes. Had to buy the brooks because I did not feel nike had enough cushion support in the shoes. Do not like the white swoosh mark at the top of the shoe. Very ugly. Got these in the black.
