Runners are raving about these shoes – and so is Runner's World! The PureConnect was named "Best Debut" in Runner’s World’s Winter 2012 Shoe Guide in the December issue. The editors said the PureConnect "strikes a balance between barefoot-inspired minimalism and cushioning-required training. It has a lightweight, barely there feel yet is substantive enough to handle long tempo runs."
You'll feel your run from head to big toe with the radically lightweight and flexible PureConnect. Neutral runners who crave less shoe and more freedom will love the maximum breathability of an open mesh upper built on a slim and nimble underfoot.
A split toe groove extends through the forefoot allowing the runner to really engage the foot and get a greater sense of connection to the ground. This is a shoe for those who want as little as possible between them and the road.
Just like our core line, we hold PureProject to the industry’s highest weartest and durability standards. Because of their lightweight construction and fewer materials, runners should generally expect shoes from the PureProject line to last approximately 250-300 miles.

This is a great shoe. I took them out for a ten-miler right out of the box in the rain, snow, and mud. They felt great the whole time, even on the horrible terrain conditions. Traction was never an issue, and I can't say I've ever felt more comfortable. Super responsive, and they feel fast. This is a great shoe for speed work and tempo runs, yet still durable enough for long road runs. I'll be buying another pair ASAP!

For some runners this might be a perfect shoe. It's light weight, and decent cushion. For me though it just wasn't there. I normally run in the Green Silence, but since they (Brooks) is discontinuing GS's in the new year, I thought I would go ahead and see if the Pure Line would work.
I'm returning these Monday morning, and going to either stock up on the GS's or wait for the next phase of Pures due out early 2013.
I wear a 9 normally, so I ordered a 9 in Pure Connects. Right out of the box and on the feet these felt a little, maybe 1/2 size too long, not large, long. The arch band with the insert was crazy tight, so I took it out, it was bearable then.
Went for a small run this morning, and the arch band started killing me after the 2nd mile. I really like flat shoes, and the band didn't work.
The sole, and material (mesh) I do like though, and will look forward to the Drifts coming out, with the removable inserts, and hopefully the arch band will be a little less prominent.
Color wise, I dig the orange, and so did alot of fellow runners. Definetly a eye catcher if not eye blinder, you will be seen in these.
Brooks, if you're reading this, I leave for Korea early September, if you want to push me a size 9 in the Drifts as a going away present I'd appreciate it, I'll pay for them, just want them before I go for a year. Check my acct. I'm loyal to you.

I'm disappointed that the fit is not similar between your Pure series. My 2012 PureGrit shoes are great. They fit as expected for size so I expected an easy transition to the PureConnect.

Years ago, when I was running 50+ miles/week, I wish I'd bought a carload of the then-revolutionary Reebok Aztec (built in England)because it was the first shoe which fit my foot, both at rest and at speed, as if it'd been custom made for it. Although I'm too old to do that kind of mileage now, the Brooks Pureconnect feels that same second-skin way, and I say that after having put about 100 miles on it.

I recently bought the shoes and to test them, I ran about 5 miles on the treadmill. Unbelievably comforotable and light weight. I can't tell too much about the durability since I just bought it used a couple of times, but it seems like a very solid and well made pair of shoes.

I run approx. 30 - 40 miles a week. These are my third pair of Connects- the only real complaint is that they wear too quickly on the colored parts of the tread. Perhaps the black part of the sole should be on all toe areas as the green foam wears down faster? Experienced some ripping on the sides after a while along the sole/material seam which is why I gave them a too narrow grade. Can be a little slick on snow and some wet surfaces in my experience. My other shoes are the Drifts. I try to alternate.

Love these shoes. I've use them 5k - 1/2 marathon and traning runs of all types and distances. The bottom line is I love them.
They do run a little narrow. I usually wear a 11 and had to move up to 11.5. On runs over 12 I develop some blisters as a result.

These shoes fit me very good. I love how comfortable they are. I originally bought the bright orange pair and liked them so much, I bought the black pair as well. I use these shoes for running both inside on the treadmill as well as outside on the road.
