I have had this shoe for a good month now and use it for my everyday running and even on long runs (13 miles). This shoe is incredibly comfortable even though you can definitely feel the road beneath you. They certainly still have the right amount of cushioning to give you a comfortable feeling when running.
My feet do not shift in the shoe, which is important, especially when taking turns.
I will be using these shoes for my next 10K and Half Marathon.
Did I mention that they also "look" fast which for some people's psyche is important. :)
As for the durability and how long they will last? I suppose that time will tell.

When I first bought these shoes, I probably would've given them a 4 or 5 star review. I'm in my second pair now, but I probably won't be purchasing a third. The light weight was great at first, and for such a light shoe it offered good support. But they do wear out quickly, especially if you're like me and you're running in them six days a week. The exterior also wears out much quicker than any shoe I've ever had. Within weeks, the inner mesh of the toe box is frayed and filled with holes. Maybe that's what you get for wearing a "racer" like your average trainer, but next time I'll probably go for a different Brooks shoe.

    Comments about Launch:

This is my 9th pair of Brooks Launch shoes. Before the Launch I purchased 19 pairs of the Brooks Burn, their predecessor. I have been running for 11 years, and in that time have run 72 marathons, including at least one in each of the 50 states, all in Brooks Burn or Launch shoes.

Obviously, I think pretty highly of them. They are light, sufficiently cushioned, yet durable, and that's all I need or want. I run them up to about 400 miles, but they still have plenty of life left then. I use them for race distances from one mile to a marathon, and use old ones for trail running. The universal shoe.

        Comments about Launch:

I am a former collegiate runner trying to rehab from injury & get back in shape to make my marathon debut. I'm not exceptionally fast, but I hope to run 2:30-40 for my first marathon, so I'd consider myself a serious, competitive runner. I've also run in about 10 different neutral trainers because I tend to shop deals instead of buying the shoes I want (poor college kid, you know?)

I didn't think the Brooks Launch would be for me b/c it's so light and I need some cushion, but let me tell you I will continue to buy this shoe again & again as long as they make it and the price stays good. The ride is PERFECT. The cushion is incredible for a shoe this light and responsive. Wonderfully comfortable, stable, and responsive. Perhaps the perfect everyday trainer for an even somewhat efficient runner (I'm not efficient for someone my speed but I'm super light...I think heavier runners might be the only who'd need more shoe).

This really is a great shoe. My ONLY complaint is that it fits a little wide in the midfoot part of the upper, which is probably nice for some people, but I have tiny little narrow feet and I have to relace these occasionally. But really it's a minor inconvenience and won't prevent me from buying these again.

Brooks: DON'T change the price. This shoe is a great value and that's the entire reason I'd buy it over some of the plusher 130-140 dollar shoes. Keep this shoe where it is and you'll have a bestseller for years to come.

I have a couple of pairs of Launch in my Brooks collection and used one pair to train for a marathon. I used them in several 20 mile runs and felt great throughout. I even ended up running the marathon in them. Of course, they are light and responsive enough to do a fast 5k in too.

              Comments about Launch:

I'd been running in Ghosts and Glycerines for a while and wanted to make a foray into a more minimal shoe. As my current shoes were on their last legs I ordered another pair of trusty Glycerines and my first pair of Launches. I still love running in the Glycerines but unless I am going over 10 miles I now reach for the Launches first every time.

Starting with my first run in them I just felt fast. The feel on the bottom of my foot is very similar to a Glycerine/Ghost but the upper might as well not be there. That air of lightness lets your feet turn over quickly and the support that's there will keep you going.

              Comments about Launch:

After owning too many shoes mainly Brooks(Ghost, Glycerin, PureConnect). My search is over and I'm on my third pair. I'm a 40+ mile per week runner and found these to be my best shoe for track work, tempo runs and long distant. I have worn these shoes in 5k races to Half-Marathon with no problems. I like the light weight with the amount cushioning that this shoe provides. This shoe is very similar to the Ghost, with a few less ounces and a bit more responsive. The upper very lightweight and is snug but not constrictive.
People have mentioned traction problems, I have not experienced this as a problem, I have run 5k races in the rain and also a 10 Mile race Feb 2012 with snowy conditions. Given the conditions of the two previous race, the traction was above-average.
I got ~500 miles out the Launch, before needing replacing.
If i have one Con, the laces could be 2-4 inches longer, so I can use the last eyelet and can create the loop to draw the shoe tight.

              -Brian.

                  Comments about Launch:

I have been running in your Launch shoe since you introduced it. My times in my races the last few years has a lot to do with finding a shoe like the Launch that I like to run in.

I enjoy running races from 5K to full marathons and it's a great shoe for me. It's lightweight, comfortable and responsive. I have tried a few times training in a heavier shoe but I kept going back to this shoe for training, and racing. It works for both for me.

I really appreciate that you haven't changed the features on this model.

I have been running times that I use to run 15 years ago, so I am not planning on running in anything else except a Launch shoe.

Favorite Launch color so far is the red followed by the black.

                  Thanks Brooks !

I was hesitant on steering away from my NIKE peagasus, but i'm glad I did. I know that when this pair wears down I will be purchasing a new pair.
