I have struggled in recent years to find the perfect running shoes. In my distant past, I was a regular runner and a New Balance girl all the way. After a long hiatus and weight gain, I decided to return to running. After reading Born to Run, I was intrigued and tried a variety of barefoot runners (5 fingers and Merrell). At first I swore that I would never go back -- nothing is more comfortable on the feet than 5 fingers -- love how responsive they are! However, I developed plantar facitis (boo), and have had to switch back to stardard shoes. I have been desperately trying to find the right ones; I tried the Saucony Hurricane, New Balances, Innovates, and Brooks glycerine and adrenaline. Hands down, the Brooks Glycerine had the best feel. My only complaint is this: Who the heck is designing these shoes? They are soooo ugly. Why do all companies only make their wide width shoe in the pink color??? I actually feel embarrassed wearing them.

The Glycerin 8 was the absolutely perfect shoe for me. I ran 12 half marathons with them and could not have been happier. The Glycerin 9 is pretty solid as well. Unfortunately, I can no longer find 8s or 9s in my size and had to purchase the 10. I did my 12th half marathon of 2012 wearing these. I thought I was going to die. My feet started hurting around mile 4, my knees and hips around mile 8, and I ended up limping my way across the finish line. I am ready to cry. I may have to stop doing distance running as a result. Why, oh why, Brooks, did you have to ruin an absolutely fabulous model?!?!?!
These just do not have the same cushining as it's predecessors. The pain was focused on the balls of my feet. Otherwise, the fit is great and it is still a comfortable shoe. They may work for a 5k. A 10k would be pushing it.

I have autoimmune arthritis and finding a shoe that would give cushiony support for my knees and ankles has proved difficult. After one of my running coaches suggested the Glycerin, I tried them thinking that these would just be another pair that I would donate. Guess what? These shoes changed my running life. I no longer have horrible knee pain after running. I had a knee full of fluid from my disease and was still able to run a 1/2 marathon in these shoes. I couldn't be happier with them. Thank you Brooks!

Used these for walking. Love the color and comfort. Had them 3 months and the silly decorative stitching on the tip of the toes came unraveled! Really? these are such expensive shoes to have them fall apart with such a light weight like me. I am a Brooks fan, these are my 3rd pair...however, I would not recommend this shoe. So sad. :(

I've run in Brooks Glycerin shoes for several years now since model 7 or 8, I think.
I tried two pairs of the 10 model. The first pair I figured must have been defective. I had to stop between mile one and two of my first wearing to adjust the laces because my foot went numb. I adjusted again between mile three and four. Fed up, I headed home. I ordered a different pair and had the same issues. The problem is the insole. The "outer arch" for lack of a better term is really high(the area opposite the arch). It feels half as high as the arch support, and I think that is what is making my foot numb.
Now, I'm just hoarding several pairs of the Gylcerin 9's. I've never had support issues with Brooks. I have high arches, but whatever is going on with Glycerin 10 is painful. I've never had to stop during a run to adjust my shoes like this, and I've been running for over 20 years.

As someone who recently underwent foot surgery I was looking for the most cushioned Brooks model out there- found it! Incredible support yet still responsive enough to do the agility exercises in PT. nice neutral runner good for jogging or other sports endeavors

These were salesman choice at a specialty running store. I love them. I did buy a 1/2 size larger than what I thought I wore. Fit great. Excellent support. Love them so much ordered second pair from Brooks online in a different color for every day wearing.

I was not a believer of spending more than necessary for shoes to just get sweaty in...I mean I would rather get a cute pair of shoes for a dress instead...BUT...these are AMAZING. I will NEVER go back.
I wear these for the elliptical. I was wearing other brands that were much less and seemingly comfortable, but the other ones didn't get me past 30 minutes or 3 miles. With my Brooks Glycerin 10s I can go much longer! So far I've increased up to an hour in just one week since I bought them. My knees are great! My feet are AWSOME after a long workout. I am on my feet a lot with three kids and I work occasionally for long hours on my feet, and I'm noticing that my feet are doing better even in other shoes after wearing these.
I also was born with extreme pronation... Not a problem in these shoes.
Can't say enough.,.this is money well spent!

This is my first pair of high dollar shoes, but since I am having more foot pain, I decided to splurge and see if the shoes made a difference. I work out several times a week--intervals, Zumba, turbokick, step--and I walk the dog daily. I was unable to find any of my usual brand that had the cush of Brooks--and back in high school when I ran, Brooks was the brand I wore. I love these so far, though I am going to take it easy in them before deciding to keep them. The one thing I am not too thrilled with is the short laces. I have a fairly narrow foot and lace through all eyelets. There is barely enough lace for a bow and not enough to double knot, which I prefer. I think it is crazy to spend over $100 on a shoe and not have the $3 laces long enough.

I have 500+ miles on my second pair of Glycerin 10s and I'm very happy with how well they have held up. The tread is still good, and when I took them in to my local running store to see whether they needed to be replaced, the sales rep could hardly believe that I had so many miles on them and said I could probably get by with this pair until the Glycerin 11 comes out in June. I run about 100 miles a month on gravel trails, and I love that these shoes still look good even though they've been covered in mud and dust. (I have the black and pink pair.) I switched from Asics Nimbus to the Glycerin 9 for the ample toe box, and I've been happy with this version as well—my toes do not feel cramped. I have a narrow heel, wide toe box, and skinny foot, and this shoe works well for me.
