Can you say THREE-peat? Like the Ghost 3 and 4, the Ghost 5 was deemed "Editor’s Choice" in Runner’s World’s Fall 2012 Shoe Guide in the September issue. Runner’s World described the Ghost 5 as "a versatile shoe that can handle whatever workouts you throw at it" and noting that the Ghost "remains fairly lightweight with a soft heel and relatively firm forefoot, which gives wearers a fast feel.” One wear tester said “I didn’t have that 'squishy' feeling I sometimes experience with cushioned shoes." Another said, "The Ghost 5 has excellent cushioning—cement feels like blacktop, blacktop feels like grass, grass feels like clouds! I was able to feel the ground just fine for a strong ride."
We say the Ghost 5 is so supremely smooth and impeccably balanced, it’s scary. We took the best of the award-winning Ghost 3 and 4 designs, built in new innovations, and then merged it all with striking colors and patterns. This shoe hits the sweet spot for a wide range of Neutral runners with a finely crafted Caterpillar Crash Pad and anatomical Brooks DNA.
Love the Ghost but hate running in the rain? The Ghost GTX is also available. Everything you love about the Ghost, but with a waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX® membrane to keep your feet dry and comfortable. No more blaming it on the rain!

I exchanged out my Dyad 7's for this because the Dyad made my left foot go numb a bit after 11 minutes.
This is much more comfy but I had to go to a wide to accommodate for longer runs even though I measure as normal width. Ran in it for 20 minutes, felt a lot better than the Glycerin on my shins BUT because I had to go wider to allow for foot room I slipped a bit in them and the inside seam on the shoes (outter edge) kind of was uncomfortable where the sole meets the side of the shoe.
If you have narrow feet this would be perfect because you probably won't have to do wide.
Also please note I am a jogger on the front of the foot ( mid foot striker) as opposed to a full foot runner so this is why we had to give me more room in the shoe. If you run full foot this is a great shoe because the heel is super cushioned.

Used this shoe for two months and the top inside split apart! less than 120 miles on the shoe and Brooks tells me it is within their expected mileage. Then I was told that it was the way I was walking. Well after 18 years of walking 5 times a week for about 15-20 miles a week, you would think if I couldn't walk properly all the other brands would have had problems and I physically would also! I was told this was a great brand of shoe. Well, first pair of Brooks probably last pair of Brooks.

I don't do a ton of miles anymore - maybe 15 a week, max. I had these shoes less than two months, and the sides started to tear! I also occasionally had IT band pain in these shoes which I hadn't had previously. I'll keep scouring the internet for the Green Silence - my favorite!

First purchase from Brooks. So far, I'm very pleased with the ghost 5. The website recommended this shoe for high arches, yet it doesn't feel like there is a lot of support in the arch. However, the shoe is SUPER lightweight and comfortable, and I haven't had any foot pain or discomfort.

Bought these as my "second pair" to alternate, Ghost was my first ever pair of serious running shoes two years ago. I also ordered Glycerin --my reigning favorite --in same size; the Glycerin is perfect and the Ghost is a bit bigger in the toe box than I expected. The material of the shoe buckles a bit when I lace it up tight enough. Probably could have had a regular width in this one.

I run outside 20-25 miles a week. I have gone through 2 pairs of Brooks (Adrenaline GTS 12 and Ghost 4) in the last couple of years and more recently tried Mizunos because I got a free pair. I'm now back to Brooks and, after wearing them today on my first run since the Mizunos, know that I will never go back to any other brand!

I run 15 miles or more each week and LOVE the Launch. I wore them for my half marathon and countless miles leading up to it. Sadly, I don't wear a size 11 or 12 so I can't get more of the Launch. The online support person I chatted with suggested I try these. (I've tried Green Silence and Pure Flow -- not enough stability. I've tried Raveena and Adrenaline -- too much!!) These went in the too much category. My feet land so unnaturally in them and I end up with sore heels and aching knees. I returned them today and am trying Defyance instead.

I bought these for a trip to Disney World which involves a ton of walking. Each day that I wore these sneakers my feet did not get as fatigued as my other shoes. Thy are so comfortable and supportive. Now that I own Brooks Ghost sneakers I can't imagine buying any other brand.

I am new to workout world, but it is amazing what a difference these shoes have made. I can walk/run longer and with less wear and tear on my body than ever before. I was fitted with these shoes at the Running Room in Victoria, BC and am so glad I went in! The hot pink felt a bit jarring at first, but now I feel pretty darn sassy in these things! Way to go Brooks!

Loved the comfort, loved the fit. Hated when the "good traction" soles made me trip while running. I almost tripped a second time when that good traction stuck to a set of steps. I'll be sore for weeks. I'll never wear them again.
