I am over-weight, have wide feet and walk daily for health and exercise.

These shoes come in widths so my wide feet finally found a home. The cushioning is phenomenal. The heel doesn't seem too high which adds to my feeling of stability. Also the heel to toe ratio feels just right for long walks, which I do daily.

Everything seems perfect about these shoes, including the color which perfectly compliments my jeans!

Finally, even in the FL heat, my feet stay relatively cool.

Definitely recommend for those of us who are cursed with wider feet.

But this Dyad 7 is so very ugly. I hate the aqua laces and the rest of the trim. The mens looks marginally better. I don't normally care about cosmetics except that this is so far to the extreme. Since these are the only shoes I can wear with my injuries I have to look at them a lot. THey need to be wearable with casual clothes without attracting too much (negative) attention. I wish I stocked up on Dyad 5 and 6 because those can't be found online in my size in either mens or womens so I fear I will be stuck wearing this ugly thing. It will be on my feet drawing attention to themselves. ugly and a downer

I've always had sensitive knees and constantly have problems with nearly every possible part of my leg. I tried Nike's, Asics, neither worked. I was matched up with this model of Brooks and I haven't had any problems since. Great support and super endurable (I run about 8-12 miles every run.

          Comments about Dyad 7:

I bought this shoe after wearing the Brooks Addiction for a long time. I have had bones fused in both feet and wear orthotics to support what little arch remains after these operations, which were to fix my feet after both posterior tibial tendons tore. However, I found myself supinating slightly, and my trusted Fleet Feet running guru here in Tucson thought about this and realized that I what I really needed was a neutral shoe (which this one is), not the motion control type I had been wearing. I am thrilled with them. They have a straight last which is important for pronators, and the design controls my mild supination. I think the color is cool, but I can see how others might want something a bit more subdued. And, while I say I am a casual/recreational user, I am an aspiring gym rat.

I received these shoes as a gift from my boyfriend and I'm blown away by how comfortable they are! I have very flat feet that tend to supinate rather than pronate, and these shoes give me the cushioning and support that I need for walking and going to the gym.

          Women's Dyad 7 are KEEPERS!

          By HAPPY KEEPER!

          from Chicago, IL

          Comments about Dyad 7:

One more thing about those fabric strips at issue in my first review. There's a long strip running along the inner top side and a strip forming the base of the laces. The strips involved are made out of a soft and flexible plastic, making them very pliable. So even tho it is uncomfortable to feel them bending and rubbing on my foot, they don't rise to a level of discomfort or pain. Their pliability offsets the contact with the foot and along with the design of the entire forefront, works to minimize any effects of contact and actually attempts to restore a better more accommodating shape to the forefront. So I don't feel the strips all the time. There's something MAGICAL about these shoes, the way the materials work together, you'd think the shoe was alive or something, always trying to adjust to the best shape possible.

Possibly the toe box should have more space and give at the base of the laces and on both sides of that base area. And the bunion window could be larger with more give if needed. This only concerns my right foot which has a slightly bigger bunion.

Still, I'm walking now, going places, doing things, planning trips, and feeling and looking real good.

              Comments about Dyad 7:

Women's Dyad 7 are Keepers! They are truly made for a wide foot. I wear Size 11 Extra Wide. They have a real nice round toe box, a big toe box, and mesh bunion windows. I don't feel my bunions at all, not even the bigger sensitive bunion on my right foot and not even the callous on the outside of that foot. The cushioning is superb; I'm heavy and don't feel any hard impact at all. Plus, the arch and foot support are so good, my foot does not collapse. So I get the full benefit of the cush. It's cush with support! I don't feel my plantar fascitis either. I think it's gone.

I'm really, really surprised. I now have shoes I can walk around in after six (6) years of looking, ordering, and running to the post office to return. And the turquoise is beautiful, real classy and elegant. They are very lightweight and have a really nice undersole. The whole shoe, front to back, is built light, soft and flexible.

The heel is too big. I have a wide forefoot, but not a big heel. And I wish the mesh bunion windows were a tad bigger, with more give and more forgiving. My larger bunion pushes out thru the mesh window a bit more and causes the fabric strips around it to draw in tighter, bend in and rub on the foot, which is uncomfortable, but at the same time, the entire forefoot material is so ample, soft, and flexible that it works to offset some of that localized tightness so that I walk with no pain and no discomfort. However, that bunion window still needs tweaking.

                Comments about Dyad 7:

I have been wearing the Dyad for years! This year's new Dyad is quite disappointing.
                - Not as cushioning
                - No stability (at least not like they used to be)
                - It appears wide near the ball/toe area of the foot. My foot slips around.

The dyad used to be so soft, and cuddly with support for my mild-moderate pronation. I am pronating in this new version.

At least the colors are great!

                Comments about Dyad 7:

I put a lot of time into finding quality, supportive shoes and, after reading great reviews of this shoe, diverted away from New Balance in order to give these a shot. Even though I'm only 29 years old and in good shape (5'4" 130 lbs.)I was looking for extra support because I fractured my right arch about 8 years ago and still experience some pain from that injury when I'm on my feet for more than a few hours. I'm not a runner, but I do walk 3 large dogs on a daily basis, so I needed something durable. I normally wear a 7.5 wide, but the 7.5 in this shoe was too short, so I ended up getting an 8. The 8 was a bit large, but the store clerk (who had measured my foot) said that after I put in arch supports, the 8 would likely fit perfectly. Even after adding my arch support inserts, the shoes still feel like they slide around unless I wear very thick socks. The most disappointing part however, was that after only 5 months of wearing these shoes, the fabric where my small toe meets my foot was worn out in both shoes. As I said earlier, I'm not a runner or overweight and use these shoes primarily to walk my dogs and run errands. Furthermore, since I bought these shoes late in the year and because I live in a cold climate, I wasn't walking my dogs as far or as often as I normally do because of the weather, so I would have expected that I could wear these shoes much longer before seeing large holes worn in the sides. I wore my New Balance for almost an entire year before I saw holes in those and I spend a huge amount of time doing landscaping and gardening during the spring, summer, and fall. I'm really disappointed at the lack of quality and durability. I'll likely go back to my New Balance since the Dyads were $40 more expensive, but lasted half the time.
