My body type is what you'd imagine a natural linebacker, so not a natural runner. But I have run several marathons, and put on a fair number of road miles each week. I'm on my twentieth pair of Dyads, a shoe which took me from running 8.5 miles on a long run to comfortably hitting high teens.
I was disappointed with the styling of the Dyad 6, and let Brooks know about it, because they looked like a Fisher-Price-spaceman-shoe. The Dyad 7 is a revelation, and the best running shoe I have ever used. Brooks finally - finally! - fixed the sliding tongue issue, which had been plaguing the Dyad line for years. That alone makes these a worthwhile upgrade. The styling is great, and they seem more durable than the previous generation. They're more comfortable overall, and breathe quite well.
I very highly recommend the Brooks Dyad 7. The previous generations were all great running shoes, and these build on a great tradition by providing more comfort, more durability, better styling, and a tongue that finally stays in place. Best running shoe I have ever used.

The shoe is a great fit and very comfortable however, I have had the shoes less than 30 days and there is already a hole in both of the shoes around my large toe. I have only worn the shoes about 8 times. This happened to my last pair as well. very disappointed in the quality for the price of the shoe.

Was trying to find good walking shoe; clerk suggested the Dyad 7, and at first, very good. Wide enough, variable fit through lacing. After walking for over 30 min. found socks bunching up under foot, also upper shoe becomes tight on foot. Don't know if shoe, or socks, but very uncomfortable after a while. Write-ups say it's a neutral shoe, but inside of knees ache after 1-2 hours. Not a particularly great shoe, but better than a lot out there.

This shoe is amazing. It is a little heavier than I am used to, but given the amount of cushion in the shoe, it is understandable. The shoes insole is really think. The shoe is very responsive. I am on my feet all day every day. I use these at work, for running, and my orthotics fit in them just fine. I would recommend these shoes!!

This review probably most helpful for runners >200lbs, with wide feet that can't find a good running shoe. I got the size 13 4E and it fits great. With my previous running shoes I had pain on my feet, arch, shin and knees. With this shoe I don't get those. It will let you run as far as you can push yourself. Really comfortable shoe box, love the mid sole supports, you can feel the difference. Good thick layer of cushioning and DNA gel. Nice layer of durable rubber. This is my first brooks and I've had them for a week and think they are great. No nonsense running shoes. If you are serious about running then find the brooks fit guide and it will help you figure out what shoes you need. These neutral shoes are good for running/walking on paved surfaces. Good luck!

Where the tongue is sewn into the shoe had exrtra paddding in earlier Dyads, not in the 7. The stitching had also moved a little further from the toe. The combination produces uncomfortable pressure on my foot. After two months of trying to break them in I gave up. If this shoe doesn't give in the first week it won't. Hope that Brooks rectifies the paddihng in the 8. Also doesn't breathe as well as the 6-seems to have more plastic.

Good shoes. Lighter and hipper looking than my old Dyad's. Only problem I have is that though the 2E is wide enought

Brooks are the most comfortable tennis shoes I have found. My wife & I order 2 pairs each once a year & alternate wearing them to allow the cushion to fully rebound before another use. It has worked great for us!

I wore braces for years as a small child and never felt good running. However, I always just managed to tough it out. I promised my daughter that I would run a half marathon with her when I turned 45 years old. This year, she remembered the promise, and I am training. After a few weeks in another shoe, I hurt and was unsure I would be able to make good. I tried tapes, insoles, etc to no avail. I gave it a last ditch effort and was turned on to the dyad by a professional runner. Thanks for that. I am turning in nearly 25 miles a week, and without any foot discomfort. The dyad has made it possible to train. I will make 13.1 in May. Thanks!!!
