Comments about Cascadia 5:
Not sure what changed between the cascadia 4 and 5, but something was lost. I live in these shoes, all day teaching, biking, walking, aerobic kick-boxing. I switch out my shoes to give them rest time. But my feet still hurt at the end of the day, top metatarsal area, whereas they did not hurt at all with the 4's. With the 6's, my feet hurt by lunchtime! Bring back the 4's!!

Comments about Cascadia 5:
I have foot and over-pronation problems that emerge during long walks on sandals and gym shoes. The Brooks Cascadia I got from [...] made me forget all the uncomfortable torsion on my knee, pronating left foot and the pain that keeps me up at night. Thanks to the shoe design, I actually enjoy climbing up the steep backyard and those rare, long walks on the beach in my very breathable and stable walking, running, climbing Brooks all-around shoes! I will gladly recommend the Cascadia to anyone like me who suffer from a tendency to trip because a faulty leg.

Comments about Cascadia 5:
I've ran quite a few trail runs in these over 5 miles. They are by far the most durable and comfortable ones I've owned. The colors and style are amazing. Cushioned, lightweight ride. I wash them after muddy runs with mild detergent, cold water on gentle and air dry them over a heat vent and they come out like new. They just don't seem to wear out. I wasn't sure about Brooks before, but I love them now. I wear them for street running too - 5-10 mile runs. I wish all shoes were such perfect 10's in all categories.

Comments about Cascadia 5:
They are ideal on ungroomed woodland trails, over rocks, through creeks, the whole schebang. I wouldn't wear anything else on the trail. The neutral platform helps me stay stable and avoid twisting things that weren't meant to twist. They also make a good light hiker on gentle terrain. The colors tend to the obnoxious, but I've rationalized my way around the neon by deciding that if I do a trip and fall and knock myself out, someone might notice the unnatural color sticking out of the brush, investigate, and render aid (LoL). They also make the transition to the street: I ran my first half-marathon in them last year and they worked out great.

Comments about Cascadia 5:
I've been very happily running almost exclusively trails in these shoes for a year now, from 3-10 miles 3 or so times a week. Ran in the Adrenaline for several year and was very happy with those, as well. Brooks trail shoes are the best I've ever tried. Used to have blister issues with NB, Saucony, Asics, but never have trouble with Brooks. Initially the foot bed (in the 09 version) seemed flat/uncontoured compared to the Adrenaline, and on side sloped trail my foot seemed to slide to the side, but over time it molded to my foot and has been great since.
