Why do you run? Waking up in the morning and knowing that there will be 10 guys or so out there everyday doing the same thing that I am.
The best thing about being a Hansons-Brooks athlete? I learned that sometimes you have a to take a few steps back before you can go forward.
How have you improved since joining the Hansons-Brooks ODP?
When did you start running? My first race was The Great Race in Pittsburgh when I was 12 years old, which I did with my uncle.
What challenges do you face as an athlete? The main challenge that I face as an athlete is trying to be able to stay at that high level of running everyday. There are going to be those days when you just don't have it or don't feel good, but you have to.
What do you like to do when you're not running? Golfing, fishing, hanging out.
Favorite event: I've only done it once but the half marathon was a really fun distance.
Favorite workout: 25x400 dropping the times down with 100 jog after each repetition and 400 jog after each set of 5 reps.
Favorite pre- and post-race foods: Gatorade Rain and a granola bar pre-race and a nice cold beer after the race with some pizza.
Role models: Frank Shorter for his incredible range through all the distances and my Grandfather. |
