 T6 Racer

 Infiniti Jacket

 Vapor Dry 3D 1/2 Zip

Where do you live?:  Spokane, WA

Day job:  Attorney

When did you become a Brooks I.D. Member?: 2002 (when it was called Brooks Ambassadors)

Date of birth: July 28, 1971

High School:  Del Norte HS (Albuquerque, NM, played soccer)

College:  California Lutheran University (Thousand Oaks, CA) - soccer player

Personal Record(s): Marathon: 2:22:42; half:1:06; 10k: 30:15; 5K: 14:42

Events Currently Training For:  Windermere Marathon, May 2010

Miles run/week: 80-90

Favorite Brooks shoes and apparel?: SHOES: Training: Defyance 2/Axiom; Racing: T6 Racer or Racer ST4; APPAREL: There are too many choices. Since it is winter here, I like lounging around in the Airplex pants and a Tienken Jacket. When running in the winter, I love the Infiniti jacket/vest, Vapor Dry ½ Zip; Vapor Dry Stadium Pants, Runderwear is a must, and I top it off with HVAC gloves and hat.e

Why do you run?:  Running helps me clear my head and gives me a quiet place to work through work-related issues.

Who inspires you?:  I definitely like Brian Sell and Ryan Hall but I am also inspired by wheelchair racers and war vets who race with prosthetics. (Those folks turn something that could be really negative into a positive. They are what I think about when I am having a crappy run.)

The best thing about being an I.D. Member (besides the discount):  Brooks is an incredibly supportive company for all levels of runners and the ID Program rewards those that get out and support their community, whether it be as a coach, elite athlete, event organizer, etc. Oh, and kicking the crap out of Nike at Hood to Coast.

When did you start running?: I always ran to keep in shape for soccer but started racing around 1998.

What challenges do you face as a runner?:  I have to run at 4:30 in the morning, so the biggest challenge is getting out of a warm bed and then trying not to fall into one of our town’s giant potholes. I don’t want to forget the rednecks who try to hit me with their cars.

What do you like to do when you're not running?: Hang out with my wife – we are home bodies, work, house/yard projects, fly fish, camping/hiking

Favorite type of event: Marathon

Favorite race
:  Bloomsday

Favorite run:  Any of the trails in Riverside State Park.

Favorite pre- and post-race foods: Pre-race: Pizza; Post race: Breakfast.

Anything else you'd like to add?: Thank you!
