College:  Sewanee: The University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee

Personal Record(s): 18:27 5K

Events Currently Training For:  Fall Racing Season

Favorite Brooks shoes and apparel?: Adrenaline X (wear testing and it’s great), ST4s, T6s.  The NightLife jacket – awesome.

Why do you run?:  Running is empowering.

Who inspires you?:  All of those really fast runners out there like Steve DeKoker and Brian Sell – how do they do it?

The best thing about being an I.D. Member (besides the discount):  Training can be lonely at times, but being an ID member creates a running community for those of us who don’t have training partners. It’s great to feel like we are part of a larger effort to help more people learn the joy of running.

When did you start running?: Over the years I have competed in a wide variety of sports, but I always come back to running.

What challenges do you face as a runner?: As I have gotten older, air seems thinner–much thinner–and 5 a.m. has gotten much earlier.

What do you like to do when you're not running?: I’m fortunate to have a wonderful family and love to spend time with them.

Favorite type of event:  5K

Favorite race:  Butterfly Boogie, Dallas

Favorite run:  Along the Charles River in Boston

Favorite pre- and post-race foods: Mexican

Anything else you'd like to add? On behalf of all ID members, thank you Brooks for all that you do for us.
