The fit and feel of a running shoe in a casual everyday walker? What's not addictive about that? The new Addiction™ Walker now comes with durable, energy-returning MoGo midsole cushioning, a more supple full-grain leather upper, strong support, and reliable slip-resistant outsole. This shoe provides sturdy support mile after mile by supporting low arches and keeping pronation under control.
The Addiction Walker is also available with V-Strap closures -- just like the lace-up version, but with the convenience of hook-and-loop straps to get you out the door in a flash.

I currently work in a profession where I am standing for 8 1/2 hours a day with a half-hour break for lunch so I need something that will be very comfortable for the duration. I searched for what others used for standing all day and read a lot of good reviews about rockports and ordered a pair of those. They were OK but not what I was looking for.
I wanted a pair of the Black Adrenaline GTS's but were out in my size so I decided to try the Addiction. From the moment I put them on I could tell they were much different than the others I have tried. They make my feet a little hotter than I had liked but almost every leather-upper shoe does.
The first day was a little rough because I thought it was a good idea to wear them for the whole day without breaking them in (BIG mistake) but after a couple days I was surprised that my feet/legs didn't hurt anymore. Not to mention they don't really look like running shoes but more as casual dress shoes that go great with my work clothes.
They also absorb a lot of the shock from walking in them all day as well. Not often, but sometimes in my old shoes after a hard morning workout I would have to come home and ice my shins because of the added shock from my old work shoes.
If your looking for a shoe that you can stand in for 8+ hours and still look great in profession clothes then I highly recommend the Brooks Addiction!

I have worn Addiction Walkers for several years because the sole design prevented me from rolling my ankles (outward) and spraining them. I recently ordered two new pairs and noticed that the design of the soles has changed and the new soles actually contribute to ankles rolling outward.
I would not recommend them to anyone with this type of ankle rolling issue.
After the disappearance of their preventive value, the quality of the shoe does not seem to me to be any better than average, although the width choice is a plus.

Comments about Addiction Walker:
This type of product was recommended by my foot doctor due to a foot problem. I choose Brooks shoes because I liked the look and fell. I have several pairs and wear then for work and casual wear, basically all the time. They feel great on my feet, are very comfortable and provide the right support. The Addiction look like a real pair of leather shoes. Both my foot doctor and myself are pleased with the results.

Comments about Addiction Walker:
I walk about three miles a day and have had a difficult time finding a shoe that fits properly because of my narrow foot. These Addiction Walkers are still new but I find they provide me with a good fit and the support I need, the true test will come over time.

Comments about Addiction Walker:
I wear Brook's shoes mostly for the comfort. I have neuropathy in my feet and can wear very few shoes comfortably. I work every day and spend some time standing on hard surfaces. These shoes are stlylish enough to wear with casual wear. I have a brown and black pair.
